Iven Tu (he/him) is an independent filmmaker whose genre-bending work explores themes of race, gender, and spirituality through fantasy, dark comedy, and musicals.

His narrative short Sand Land screened at 16 international film festivals, including the Oscar®-qualifying Edmonton International Film Festival. His latest short film, Bathhouse Tango, was supported by the Spike Lee Film Production Fund.

 

He holds an MFA from the Graduate Film Program at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, specializing in writing and directing. During his studies, he received the TSOA Graduate Scholarship, Maurice Kanbar Scholarship, and TSOA Master’s Film Future Fund.
